Born on May 14, 1946 in Stryy, Lviv region, Ukraine.
Savula Yarema Hryhorovych graduated from the Faculty of
Mathematics & Mechanics of Lviv State University named
after Ivan Franko and completed the postgraduate course of the said University at the Chair of Applied Mathematics
under supervision of professor Fleishman N.P. In 1973 depended Ph.D. dissertation in Mathematics & Mechanics.
Took up longterm probation courses at the Faculty of Calculus Mathematics & Cybernetics at the Moscow State
University named after M.V. Lomonosov in 1976 and at the Technical University in Brno (former Chechosloakia)
in 19771978.
Since 1972 after the completion of the postgraduate course has been
working at the Chair of Applied Mathematics
of the Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko. In 1986 he acquired a Doctor’s Degree at the Kazan State
University after M.Lobachevsky (Russia); the title of dissertation: “Mechanical Problems of Complex Geometry
Shell Deformations”.
From 1986 – the Head of the Chair of Applied Mathematics and from 1996 – till present combines the abovementioned
position with that of the dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics & Informatics.
Conducts investigation in 1) Application of Numerical Methods and
Programming for Mathematical Model Analysis, particularly, in Pollution Transfer and in Mechanics of Deformated
Solid; 2) Numerical Analysis of Models Including Elements of Controlling; 3) Development and investigation of
heterogeneous mathematical models.
He is the author 150 scientific articles and publish a book.
Supervised 10 candidates of sciences.
From 1993 he is an Academician of Higher School Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
